I am of the idea that the 80s, while not perfect, was a rebirth of the nation, we came out of the decline from the end of the Vietnam War and the insanity of the 70s with its issues. We climbed back up and took the world stage. We stood up to the those that challenged us, we pushed technology and even with the stumbling blocks we kept pushing, then somewhere around the end of the 90s early 2000s, we just gave up, like it was too hard to compete and it was too much to worry about it. Like we expected everything on the silver platter now versus later, if at all, and the idea of you was owed something began to take root even more.

I know there's the whole "grass was greener 30 years ago" thing, but explain drag queen story hour, rental furniture, and onlyfans to a dad from the 80s and tell me there wouldn't be the other half of the battle. Things are not better, the shiniest iPhone and a rental car with wifi doesn't make up for all the husk people they've made of my generation and down.

I haven't seen the show, but "Y: the Last Man" is based off a disturbing comic series published by DC Comics. Should've never been developed!

My wife is a college history teacher at a Christian college. This semester, she is teaching two different sections of World History: one pre-reformation, and one post-reformation. In both sections, she has tried to connect the dots with her students about current world affairs, especially regarding the fall of Rome and the French Revolution. She said she has seen the lightbulb start to come on in some of her students.

Again, thank you all for the podcast! It is absolutely embarrassing that our business leaders went to Britain to make obeisance to a British prince. We fought a stinking war to never have to do that again!

My wife teaches high school, and her students love the 80s. We have been printing out movie lists and song lists for the kids. It is hard to be depressed with 80s music!

80s were awesome. 90s where ok. But it seems like we are on pause. I graduated college in 98, and I can wear the clothes I had then today.

On supply note, the turkeys are hitting the shelves! Not as many as usual, and very expensive.

We had all those disaster movies from the mid-90s up to the mid-2010s.

Nick: they're trying to make the cities unlivable so people move out and they can rebuild.

Me: Oh so Robocop without the cool robots? 😎
