I think you see the same effect with racing as with anything else that requires you to process information and act quickly. High level competitive pistol shooters are crazy fast, but they aim and process information from the sights very quickly because they've practiced and trained to do so. This lets them act very quickly even when they're taking their time. If you haven't shot a match, I recommend checking it out (or at least practicing with a shot timer).
Right, and they do everything as soon as possible. They don't shoot and then stare at the target for a beat, they shoot and as soon as the trigger breaks or the sights lift, they've transitioned to the next target. There's no dead time.
I despise despise despise Target. Refuse to go there. Saw a bunch of stickers noting which product came from minority owned companies… but only SOME minorities - cuz Goya had no labels and I wanted to empty the shelves for the same reason you turned the pride stuff around. It’s bullshit. Also if you have to succeed because of your identity, you’re a loser. Win on the fruits of your labor or go fuck yourself. ;-)
Regarding the Texas DNC walkout, I can't condemn them because I supported the Oregon RNC doing the same thing. It is a form of non-violent civil disobedience. That said, that comes with risks and arrest is one of them. Tim Pool had a good take on this one, worth listening.
Also, check out The Lotus Eaters Podcast and the Matt and Blonde Show over on YouTube. Worth your time, though I think Blonde is a bit much, I like hearing opinions I don't agree with to help me better form my own opinions.
Did anyone else have the issue with podcast ending in middle of the Paul Walker story?
Lost me too!

The crazy thing is that watching them, it looks like they're going slow because they're so smooth.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
Or as Napoleon said, "Dress me slowly, I am in a hurry."
Mr. Slate was Fred's boss
Got it! That’s right!
Last Boy Scout, duh.
Got it.
Most excellent movie!
I used to (past tense) support a charity in Haiti. Old friend ran it.
He would go their twice a year. Until one day he resigned from ministry and moved away.
As in over night.
I don't think he was doing anything bad, but I do know he saw some things.
But noticed while Haiti is a mess, the Dominican Republic, just across the mountain range, is not.
Having a nearby place for a international aid boondoggle is a great way for money to be laundered.
I remember the Haiti corruption when they first started noticing it in the news back in the 90s. It's been a sketshow for a long time.
“Goody” Nice reference to the Salem Witch Trial…. Pretty good for an infantry dude. 😁
A friend of my is a retired Marine officer. "Dumb infantry" is a great stereotype to use.
You caught that too? Man, you Feds are pretty sneaky! :P
