I'm glad S#1 failed, but they will try again. The Democrats are trying to hide the evidence and keep themselves elected. I suspect they will push hard to remove the filibuster. Then packing the supreme court. They want the removal of the US Constitution. It's coming.
I suspect Georgia and Arizona will be a big nothing. Did Hillary get arrested? Nothing ever happens. The same thing will happen. I suspect in 2022, they will cheat harder to keep in power. They know that if the Republicans get in power they will do everything they can to remove Biden and Harris.
In short. The US of A is lost. It's a failed state. Time to divorce and let the commies have the blue states.
The left feels like they have won. They feel like they have power and I have a sneaky suspicion on the left of violence they are willing to do to keep power. What if Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, etc come back and it shows that Biden cheated. What happens if it turns into a constitutional crisis? How far will the left go to keep power? Do we want to go down that path? Is another revolution the answer? Or is it best to take a page from Brexit?
These questions I don't want to have answered. I'm not going to like it.
I think it would definitely turn into a constitutional crisis. There is no contingency for this in the Constitution, since the Framers were actually moral men of upright character who would never dream of cheating in an election.
Public education is almost psychological child abuse. My wife and I are blessed that our children are able to attend -- what many would consider -- one of the top Christian, private schools in America. My daughter is able to read (about 2-3 levels above her grade level), write in cursive, and do basic math . . . and she just finished K-5. People should seriously consider pulling their kids out of the public schools and homeschooling (the ideal) or private/Christian schooling. Your kids are worth it.
My bride is a public high school teacher. So many students have been helped by her, it is amazing. Not everyone can do a reverse Gramsci, but it is a start. We have a civilization to rebuild. It won't happen in a lifetime.
Audio is sounding good! One aspect of this podcast that sets it apart from the rest is how unscripted it is. Especially with the whole cafe setting, it feels like you're both just having a conversation with us over coffee. I may not drink coffee, but I can appreciate the conversation!
On a side note, you mentioned that Strange Company was a tragedy, how it "doesn't have a happy ending." Since we, as Christians, are instructed to look toward "that blessed hope" of Jesus Christ, how can a Christian properly participate creatively in tragedy?
It's an interesting question. I don't want to speak for Nick, but one way to look at it is that the story of Strange Company is just a piece of a bigger story (whatever it might be). Remember that Túrin son of Húrin didn't get a happy ending in The Children of Húrin...
...at least not at the time. I think there's something in The History of Middle-Earth that says in the Dagor Dagorath (the final battle at the end of the world) Túrin will be the one to slay the returned Morgoth.
That's a good point! I hadn't thought about it as being part of a larger narrative. Don't get me wrong . . . tragedy is a powerful story form. "Children of Hurin" is honestly one of the greatest tales in the legendaries.
Nick do you have any mil scifi authors that inspired you? Curious to see if some of the ones I have read already are included or to find something new.
The Chinese Slave story is harrowing stuff. I'd like to think it doesn't happen here but there's so much crime and injustice swept under the rug because it would be inconvenient for the ruling class to focus on instead of their preferred agendas.

One thing the Left always does better than the Right is not giving up.

Laid back & casual podcasting is the vibe. The new microphone sounds GRRRRRRREAT!

New mike sounds good! Always wondered if you record the 'cast in your Ford. I hear the little "door is open" chime sometimes.
The Atlantic a few years ago published a story about slavery in the modern US: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/06/lolas-story/524490/ (in a Filipino-American family and not Chinese, though).

Nice! Exactly!

Samson was a Tragedy. St Paul was a Tragedy. For that matter, most of the Bible was in part a tragedy. Till the end.

We'll have to see how Strange Company plays out.

This is something I've thought on before, and I thought I would ask your opinion, since you are a Christian in the arts.
