I think the question of "When is the time to act?" Is the million dollar question on the minds of many Americans. That and, what do we do when the time comes? Its a tough one, but I have no doubt that our founders struggled with these same questions during their time.
As for Conservatism.. Yeah, what exactly have they conserved? The only area where the Right has really made headway, is the 2nd Amendment. Beyond that they've published a lot of books, generated endless hours of media content, but done nothing. I think we're reaching a cross roads, we need to figure out a different path because this one isn't working.
And we have good cake & pie here in North Central Arkansas, you guys should visit, enjoy some free-air, mountains and woods. Arkansas, its not the state you think it is! Oh, and we just opened a new donut shop. Might be good.
At the beginning of the day, if you would have told me I would become interested in Japanese detective novels, I wouldn't have believed it. Now I'm going to have to relisten to that part to get the details of where to find these.
It's the frog in the boiling water. How long will they sit in it? If they do it right, until its too late. I'm in Canada and we have no freedoms. We have no constitution to stand behind. Our rights are not absolute and are given to us from the government. Canada is a dictatorship waiting to happen. It's people are the frogs in the boiling water and not caring that they are getting scalded. The federal government of Canada has more power over its own people than the POTUS does over its. The way Congress, and all the bad players in the Federal government, limited Trump is an example of this.
As for the US, the country was designed to exist in chaos and to have all the people have the ability to talk. To get anything done, communication is the key. Though after the 50 plus executive orders, this isn't the case any more. Now no talking is needed. Just dictatorial orders. Much like Canada. In a parliamentary system, the party with the most seats rules. Period. Not the case of the US. Checks and balances.
From the Peoples State of Canuckistan, welcome to the socialist nightmare. I'd say there's cookies, though its kinda late in the day and they are all probably gone by now.
Hi Nick and SWM, loving the podcast! Just a quick comment on Q - you gotta be REAL careful about what is attributed as being from "Q". For example, Q never posted that JFKJr was alive, in fact, in a short Q&A session a few years ago, he specifically said that JFKJr was dead. There are many, many other things that Q supposedly said that are nowhere in the Q messages. The "Hillary is dead" crap recently is another good example - there have been NO real Q messages since December 8th, 2020. NONE. If anyone claims Q said this or that after December 8th, they are straight up lying. As to whether Q is real or not, that's a tough question. On one hand, I do believe Q was a pysop, but I mostly believe it was OUR pysop. I really don't believe the Cabal wanted anyone pointing out the degree to which our elites love them some pedophilia, and the Q team did that constantly. Also, the degree to which Q is attacked by the MSM/Cabal is truly insane. The point where I waver on if it was our pysop is that Q lulled those who might have acted to sleep - "Patriots are in control!", WWG1WGA!, just stand down, don't do anything, we'll take care of it. That really set back any right-wing organization severely, until it was too late. I just don't know. Finally, right at the being, Q stated this is information warfare and that they would be posting things to provoke our enemies to react. This was on purpose to see what they'd do. You have to look at all the posts at qanon . pub through the lens of information warfare. Looking forward to many more podcasts!
I really enjoyed Soda Pop Soldier. Esports taken to their logical conclusion. I have the sequel in my kindle app, but it keeps getting moved behind the new Galaxy Edge book on the reading priority list.
As for good pie, if you can't find any learn to bake it! Seriously, I learned how to make good piecrust from scratch. It's not hard, but it takes patience and willingness to stick to the recipe (the Better Homes & Gardens cookbook is the one I use).
On a more sober note, I fear we're past the point where this ends well. I'm about a quarter of the way through Gad Saad's _The Parasitic Mind_, and while it's excellent I wonder whether Dr. Saad hasn't missed the explicitly Leninist cast of today's Wokist Inner Party. Call them out as hypocrites all you like and they will merely chuckle and sneer at "bourgeois morality." Affiant saith naught further.
Nicole could read the phone book and I would listen.
Wow Allan, day made, thank you!
True story. Me too

Here's the address for the article on the Japanese detective novels Nick and SWM talk about: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2021/apr/27/honkaku-a-century-of-the-japanese-whodunnits-keeping-readers-guessing
Niiiice!!! Thank you

If you keep doing these, you might want to do an RSS feed. It's fun. I hope you keep doing them.
We’ll try to get that done soon, thank you for the suggestion!
Will do
Nice job on this one guys, thank you!
Thank you. That really means a lot.
So, thanks to this episode, I have now ordered "The Honjin Murders." Another book . . . *sigh* . . . thanks a lot you two! 😁

Wow, thanks for clarifying, that helps. I’ve found it difficult previously to find clear breakdowns and discussions on this, so this was enlightening.
As someone who got sucked into the whole "Q" conspiracy, it now definitely looks like a psyop.
Uhh Nick .. we prefer to be called "sons of the soil" ha ha.
I think all the Q stuff is the biggest 4Chan gag ever pulled.
Agree or Derp State. Or... both

Good idea. We’ve made pies before but it’s been a long time. Probably time to get back to doing that.
I think everyone has spent so long being post-modernist or subverting genre tropes that it's refreshing to be reactionary.
Re: the honkaku mystery genre.
