*Pauses Podcast* If I was closer, I'd argue for you to hire me as your podcast producer. I work cheap, feed me tacos, and I'll eliminate your podcast hiccups. ha!
Clipped out of context, there is just enough here to cancel you. Yikes! Should we bake files into the cakes for you? I can send them to the prisons or the gulags, say the word!
We just need to get them a period ford, period attire, and a M1928 Thompson for Single White Medusa, and a cut down BAR for Nick. Hellva photo op there.
I've been trying to pay attention to things around the world. Ever get the feeling like this is the death shakes of a dying civilization? Is this what Rome felt like when they fell?
Excellent show Sir & Madam. No Tinfoil today, but you do have me wondering if certain events in the wake of Paul Allens death might deserve a closer examination... *cue X-files theme*
These people are kind of insulated from the real world. They go to the same parties, their kids go to the same schools, they shop in the same places, they attend the same social events, the same entertainment events, the same vacation spots, etc. They all know one another, and they all get along, because they're all the same, deep down. If they aren't, they quickly learn to at least pretend they are. They socialize with each other because really, who else are they going to socialize with? The girl that works at Wal-Mart store #3795? They guy that fixed their plumbing? No, they're going to stick to their social class, and so they run in the same circles. One of the things they all seem to share is a deep sense of superiority, of "Rightness" and in many cases a desire to cure what they see as the worlds ills. With them at the top, of course, because They. Know. Better. Than. You. And if that requires manipulating governments, or banks, or Health Organizations, well...they do what they have to. For the little people.
They go to the same schools, live in the same communities, go to the same parties. It is a very closed system. So having the idea that abusing young women is just fine, since it doesn't bother the people who matter, makes sense.
Many moons ago, I worked as an engineer in the renewable energy industry. A great way to misspend your youth.
One day, I was with our lobbyist at some function or another, and met a lobbyist from Gray Davis's office (remember him?) I was creeped out. Totally disconnected from common people. Convinced ethanol would ruin the radio on her BMW.
But she was connected.
I have more stories of my misspent youth, but in the end I left the industry for real work.
At one point, I was offered a chance to work for them in some small ways. I recoiled from it. It would of lead to many opportunities at the small cost of my soul.
