Florida - especially North Florida is red and a bit hick…. South Florida is more New York, but still Florida.

Texas is good - but I’d say DFW area. I liked Austin - but there’s stripes of red and blue mixed throughout.

I've lived in NW Florida for 13 years now, and I've never regretted it. We are the REDDEST part of the state!

Texas, I live near Fort Hood, LOTS of great towns around the area, Central Texas is Very much the place to be. Lots to do, people are friendly and other than Austin and the bigger cities, they stay out your business. Very happy when I got stationed here, I have put down roots.

Nick name drops Mark Steyn.

*Ahh, I see you're a man of culture as well.*

Love Steyn, of the class of Republicans who enjoy their cruise ships he gets a pass.

books: is there any way to buy the books, ebooks, or audiobooks outside of the beast (amazon)

Los Angeles & being crazy: Being a native Los Angelino, you two are not crazy at all. There is almost nobody else in Los Angeles that my wife and myself really want to meet over and over again with every new podcast.

locations: corral de tierra, fresno, idaho, tennessee. can talk about why some time.

thriller: sounds gooood. Can we get a volume count before you start or?

pizza: we never got to grab those yellow zebras, since we had other italian. n.b.: still have to work on primary/secondary (wife needs to do hands-on shopping) and slapfish someday. Enjoy the pizza.

Another one, the courts are making it harder for us to catch their mistakes and save the innocent from jail. Pair this with all of the political prosecutions lately and it gets scary real quick.

Texas would be a good choice. South of Austin or outside of DFW has some great small towns. Its worth the hour+ drive to the big cities to not be near the big cities.

Growing up in Nebraska, we had... well we all knew there were things going on at Boys Town. It was mentioned in the camps (Boys town big in 4H) and other place. Dad knew DeCamp, as did my Uncle who lived in Neligh. I used to go to Bible study with one of his Paralegals, and right before the accident he was working on building a case that some video games were being used to prim kids for violence. I posted a link to a PDF of the book, but I don't have an earlier copy anymore. When Dad had his surgery I think Mom sold the book (we would buy and share books between each other). Otherwise I would try to track it down for you.

For the places to live. While I love the midwest I think you guys would be happier in Texas or the south east states. I have extended family in south Texas, and they are moving back to the homestead. But the ones in the hill country are doing very well.

I made sure to update my Goodreads and add ALL of your stuff that I have read to the list, as well as Jason's stuff.

When you mentioned you lost a sub due to the podcast format: "Uhh, he waited 100+ episodes and then you were too much for him?" 🤔😂

I mean it's been pretty consistent in terms of content.

If an 18-year-old male identifies as a female will that exempt them from selective service registration?

Expand full comment

Unpopular opinion (possibly?): I'm really happy that the selective service for women amendment was removed. While I would be quite proud to see my son serve, I couldn't fathom the idea of my precious daughter being deployed. No disrespect to our servicewomen, either: they are just as deserving of our honor and gratitude as the men who serve.

But, yes, J.R., I agree that the feminist crowd will really show their hypocrisy if they go along with this.

Every woman in the rear with the gear is another swinging dick in the field. But with equal rights comes equal responsibilities. I can't stand the double standards and the societally accepted disposability of our young men.

I agree 💯! I can remember my sister-in-law advocating for women's involvement in the military because "women deserve free college tuition too!" I asked her, "Do you understand what we ask of those men? To fight and die for us?" All she could think of was equal rewards, but without equal responsibility.

I am not surprised, but Israel manages a coed draft so we know it can be done here.
