Gruesom was definitely on several things during recall... I wonder how much of that was fear that they wouldn't cheat for him.

The deaths at the concert, everybody is asking about the singer, no one seemed to know who he was, and the few who did just knew he was rap/hip-hop and that was it. Odd that their "ritual" happened in a seemingly anonymous setting.

I do remember they had similar stories of their "trips". One got scared enough he quit, found God, and made a change. The other went so dark she was wearing a pentagram to the first friend's very Catholic Wedding. And I do not mean she was wearing it as a fashion statement.
Both talked of something like the machine elves, but didn't call them elves. Now they are older and have both improved in their life, but the lady is permanently damaged from her use of psychedelic drugs. Last time I was in her company, she was complaining of constant hallucinations and is suffering from regular seizures.
It opens a door to places you really don't want to go.
Nothing is neutral. If you are not actively doing good, thereby cooperating with God, then you are doing evil, thereby cooperating with demons. Human sacrifice is one of the greatest evils ever perpetrated by humanity. Most people don't realize this, but, since sacrifice was a meal of hospitality to their god (demon), a human sacrifice was a meal of human flesh: cannibalism. That puts some acts in history in a different perspective. When the Spanish landed in Mesoamerica, and they encountered the Aztecs, they started off friendly. Then they happened to see an Aztec sacrifice . . . just think about that.
